1 word: Karaoke.
That's it, that's all. That's the Rosie's experience.
I've spent many a weekend night here belting it out with the best of them. The atmosphere is almost always great, with every one singing along and having fun. It does get very busy though and you can get stuck waiting for a long time to sing. The last time we were there, a friend put in a whole whackload of requests and only got to sing twice in the 3 hours we were there.
The song menu is suuuuuuper out of date. Don't expect to come here and sing any current music. There are sporadic updates, but most of of the songs are pre-2010 era. It isn't the worst selection. It's just very limiting, especially if your repertoire is more modern.
It's cash only, which is heckin' inconvenient. There's an ATM inside of the bar but still. Get some debit machine action going, please! -

Service is excellent, prompt and very friendly. Clean, comfortable place to chill. We were noticed within 5 minutes seated and handed menus. Food was pretty good and decently priced, came in 10 minutes. Karaoke starts at 9:30pm woot! woot!

The waiter is so nice I think he's maybe the owner.
Very friendly and chill vibe
And the platter for two is $25 and it was very filling and delicious, and there was 3 of us that shared it. -

Rosie's has really friendly service and is a chill vibe for those visiting from out of town. The only complaint I have is the DJ's for karaoke. I've been coming to Edmonton since 2012 and sadly have ran into DJs who have been really unprofessional here-usually younger (20's) and usually willing to put their friends on first before those who have submitted their names before them. I have had a DJ cut off a song mid-performance (for whatever reason...she then started it again-Prince "Kiss"), a DJ on his cellphone (not paying attention to volume levels), and last night a DJ who seemingly became annoyed that me and my group had two songs in a row even though several groups had multiple performers back-to-back (mostly young ladies the DJ seemed interested in). We waited for two hours after to perform and did not even though we had submitted song requests before many of those who performed who came in after us. I can understand wanting to possibly have everyone perform except for the fact that not only did the DJ allow the other groups there to do multiple songs back to back but also felt that he had time to do a song of his own even with a long list of people waiting.
All and all I would go to Rosie's for the drinks and food and the good staff but never for the karaoke again. Too many times this has happened and when you are visiting from out of town and being respectful to the staff and paying a lot of money it would be nice to not have a DJ act like "judge, jury, and executioner" because they want to prove a point by being "fair" (which we all know can be biased). -

Recently ate at Rosies. A Interesting hole in the wall. Looks like a dive restaurant. It has 80s style decor.
Great service though. Very fast and friendly. Not super serious, a very laid back place to grab a bite. The grub was super tasty too. And the prices were very competitive.
Kind of a grungey place but definitely a gem.
